We are starting a brand new series on GameFromScratch.com covering all aspects of game development using MonoGame. From the game loop, 2D rendering, special effects, input handling, audio to 3D and more, the series intends to cover all aspects of working with MonoGame. • • This video is a cross between a history lesson and introduction to MonoGame. What the heck is it, where did it come from and why should I care? • • We look at the history of Microsoft's XNA, the genesis of MonoGame, then a brief overview of what exactly it is.
