A large, long-winged raptor with two-toned underwings, Turkey Vultures are common residents from the U.S. through South America. This scavenger is distinctive in flight as it lazily circles in small groups with its wings held up at a v -shaped angle. Turkey Vultures are one of only a few bird species in the world with a developed sense of smell, which it uses to find roadkill and other animal carcasses. ML Video #461976. Video recorded by Eric S. Liner; audio recorded by Michael J. Andersen.
