Luminex® xTAG® Technology uses a proprietary universal tag system that allows easy development and optimization of nucleic acid assays. • There are three main components of the xTAG Technology. The first is the MagPlex-TAG microsphere that comes coupled with an anti-TAG sequence. Second, the user-designated primer and the TAG sequence that complements the xTAG sequence on the bead. And last, the nucleic acid sample that is being tested for the target of interest. Having a pre-coupled microsphere and a complementary TAG sequence eliminates the need for users to couple their own sequence to a microsphere. • xTAG Technology offers a number of advantages in nucleic acid assays. Sequences have been optimized to minimize cross-hybridization.
