WHITBY | A look around Whitby near Scarborough, North Yorkshire, is this the UK's best seaside town? It's a traditional seaside town that's extremely popular with people visiting for holidays and weekend breaks. • Famous for the Whitby Abbey, and places like the Magpie Cafe Fish and Chips restaurant, Whitby just broke the Guinness Book Of Records for the biggest number of vampires gathering in one place (at Whitby Abbey) • For holidaymakers, Whitby is hard to beat. You can spend the day on the beach climbing the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, taking a boat ride out to sea, or sitting and watching the boats whilst eating seaside fish and chips from The Magpie Cafe or Trenchers. • Whitby has two piers, the east pier and west pier, and both have lighthouses to keep boats and seafarers safe. • Another feature of Whitby is Whitby Jet. A unique precious stone that is for sale in the shops here in the town. • There's also the Dracula Experience which celebrates the legend of Dracula from Bram Stoker's famous novel. The Dracula Experience is open most days for any visitors or holidaymakers that fancy a scare! • I really love filming in Whitby and staying in one of the amazing whitby hotels or B B's here. You can't beat waking up to the sound of seagulls and the sea here and then wandering down to the seafront for breakfast. • Another feature is Whitby Bridge which is one of those bridges that lifts up to let the boats through.
