A case of mistaken identity – did you know that male mosquitoes are harmless and do not bite? In fact, male Wolbachia-Aedes mosquitoes help fight dengue! But be very wary of female mosquitoes – they can transmit diseases with their bites. • You are attractive to male mosquitoes only because they are looking for females near you to mate. • If you are staying in the Project Wolbachia study sites, you do not have to do anything differently.
