Testing the Tru Flare Bear Banger

When we're in the backcountry we carry a Tru Flare Pen Launcher Kit with us. Never having to use it, we eventually became curious of how effective the bear bangers were. The Tru Flare Bear Banger can be a great tool to use and we prefer it over the bear spray. Bear spray we have found can really be affected by the wind direction. The most important thing with the Tru Flare Pen Launcher is that it does shoot quite a distance before making the bang. This adds the importance of shooting it straight up so that the sound does not go off behind the bear having him run towards you.
