Hannover - Germany, October/01/2005. Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Fotografie, DGPh - Erich Salomon Preis was awarded to photographer Horst Faas in 2005. • Horst Faas worked for the Associated Press and becoming AP's chief photographer for Southeast Asia in Saigon during the American Vietnam War from 1962 to 1974. In 1976, he moved to London as AP's senior photo editor for Europe and Africa and he retired in 2004. Faas returned to Vietnam in 2005 for a reunion of the press corps, 30 years after the war’s end.
