The main thing is knowing where all the ammo and all the monsters are. It's easy to get disoriented by all the projectiles flying around, and then there's lots of hitscanners in dangerous spots ready to swiss cheese you. • The main issue I was having was dealing with all the cacodemons and pain elementals after yellow key. I tried all kinds of ways to engage them, and finally, I found the spot seen in this demo. I was able to kill the vast majority of them from there, and took minimal damage. Other methods I tried resulted in death 80% of the time, or were painfully slow. • Killing the cyberdemon and spiderdemon with style, and then proceeding to the second half of the map, there's a bunch of enemies that infight quite readily, so most of them get cleared out before I even get there. The arachnotrons can spam you down though if you get caught in the open. • After the main street area, going down the far side of the canyon seemed to work the best, because I could bunch up the large horde up above on the highway. The BFG9000 clears out a pretty big chunk of them so it's simply a matter of grabbing the red key and cleaning up the rest of the enemies. • I tried to two hit the final cyberdemon, but decided to catch a rocket instead. I had plenty of ammo anyways, so it wasn't much of an issue. Apart from the flying monster spam in the first half, I really liked this map.
