The Ebac 2650e certainly fits this description well. It isn't the most sophisticated dehumidifier on the market and has limited controls and doesn't come with the extensive array of features that you might find on EcoAir dehumidifiers. • But, we don't see this as a problem. The high build quality and exceptional performance means these machines last for years and work very well. That said, the 2650e isn't without it's fair share of smart technology. It simply does a good job of hiding it well which makes it very easy to use. • Inside the 2650e you'll find Ebac's patented smart system which allows the machine to learn the times of the day that your home is likely to be the most humid and when. This cause the machine to automatically turn itself on and off at the best times and means you can effectively leave it to do its job without any intervention on your part. Ebac calls this 'Patented Proportionate Control' and is something you will only find in Ebac dehumidifiers. • One final noteworthy feature is the auto-defrost system. This kind of dehumidifier is known as a compressor or refrigerant dehumidifier. As the name suggests it uses a cooling system to help remove excess moisture from the air. The problem is that these kinds of systems can sometimes get too cold and freeze up. This causes the machine to essentially stop working and, in severe cases, can actually damage the machine. To stop this happening Ebac's dehumidifiers constantly keep a check on the ambient temperature and uses this to temporarily suspend the machines operation when it gets too low. This stops ice forming and prevents the machine from freezing.
