How Does an Electric Bell Work Uses of Electromagnets

This tutorial explains how an electric bell works by constantly turning an electromagnet on and off in an electrical circuit. • When the bell is switched on, current flows in the coil (solenoid) to create an electromagnet which pulls in an iron armature on a spring. The hammer hits the bell. • Once the iron armature has been pulled in, this action breaks the circuit and so the electromagnet switches off - the metal spring pulls the iron armature and hammer back again... which completes the circuit and turns on the electromagnet again... etc! • Check out the complete electromagnetism physics course at: • https://gcsephysicsninja.com/lessons/...
