On the road - Fez to Meknes - Morocco • We had planned to go then to the Archaeological Site of Volubilis. But as we had booked our next night in Meknes and we did not want to arrive in the dark, we went straight to Meknes. • Since the schedule of the next day was not too busy, we planned this eventuality. So, Volubilis, you'll wait a bit ... • We left Fez by the R501 road which also allows us to get a nice view of the medina of Fez and then walked a few kilometers further Bab Jdid door. • It was time for us to leave Fez because the traffic began to intensify and the transition to roundabouts became sometimes hazardous in some places. • At the exit of Fez, we took the A2 motorway to Meknes.
