In this video we are trimming, pruning the branches of a panelled Hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) screening tree. The tree has a 1.5m clear stem, with a 1.5m x 1.5m panel size. • Once or twice a year it is good to tie younger branches into the frame to fill any gaps. Then to trim any of the branches growing past the panel to encourage the tree to develop a nice full screen. • These trees are also known as Pleached trees. Pleaching is traditionally done with symmetrical branches in tiers. This can take many many years to form, and not all trees will lend themselves to traditional pleaching. • With a panelled tree the branches are encouraged to fill the panel to create a nice dense screen. • When planted in your garden they will give you privacy from neighbours or hiding the view of a neighbouring property. • https://www.readyhedgeltd.com/panels-...
