In this video, we look at one of the opening stages of the Cold War: the Yalta Conference. When Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt met together in the Crimean city of Yalta, many expected a quick resolution to the post-war world. Nevertheless, the ideological differences between the country led quickly into the underlying tensions that the Cold War is known for. In this video, we take particular interest into the agreements made at Yalta concerning mainly Germany as well as the elections which were to take place around Europe.
