My Job as an AmeriCorps Conservation Volunteer

Since February 2018 I've worked as a Crew Leader for the Utah Conservation Corps which is a state AmeriCorps nonprofit organization. We focus on conservation and restoration of public and private lands in Utah. Majority of our work includes trail building and invasive species removal. • I made this video with my crew this last summer. Our biggest project was a rebuilding a trail after a forest fire destroyed it in the Dixie National Forest. We did log outs with the chainsaws, built some rolling grade dips until the monsoons created flash floods that wiped everything out, and some simple tread work. We finished 14 miles of trail at 10,000 ft elevation in less than three months.
