The Andrews Sisters were an American vocal group that became popular during the swing and boogie-woogie era of the 1930s and 1940s. The group consisted of three sisters: LaVerne Sophia Andrews (1911–1967), Maxene Angelyn Andrews (1916–1995), and Patricia Marie Patty Andrews (1918–2013). • During World War II, the Andrews Sisters entertained the troops extensively, both in the United States and overseas. They performed in military bases, hospitals, and war bond rallies, becoming known as the Sweethearts of the Armed Forces. Some of their most famous songs from this period include Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree, and Rum and Coca-Cola. • The Andrews Sisters recorded with popular artists of the time, such as Bing Crosby and Glenn Miller. Contributions to the war effort during World War II have solidified their place in music history. • #shorts
