Section 19 — Fouls. • ART. 3 . . . An intentional foul is a personal or technical foul that may or may not be premeditated and is not based solely on the severity of the act. • Intentional fouls include, but are not limited to: • a) Contact that neutralizes an opponent's obvious advantageous position. • b) Contact away from the ball with an opponent who is clearly not involved with a play. • c) Contact that is not a legitimate attempt to play the ball/player specifically designed to stop the clock or keep it from starting. • d) Excessive contact with an opponent while the ball is live or until an airborne shooter returns to the floor. • e) Contact with a thrower-in as in 9-2-10 Penalty 4. • What is the penalty for an Intentional Foul?? • (also same for Flagrant) • New Officials, plant this phrase in your brain: • -- 2 free-throws* and the ball at the spot of the foul*. • If on a missed 3-point try, then 3 free-throws and the ball at the spot of the foul. • Free-throws will be attempted by the player who was fouled, or their substitute. • The agenda: • all of the plays today are fouls that at minimum rise to Intentional or Flagrant. • • β½ Video Credits • β DVBOA Desert Valley (YouTube) • β Gary Frieders (YouTube) • β Gary Frieders (YouTube) • β½ Let’s connect! • β Website https://abetterofficial.com/contact • β Twitter / betterofficials • β FaceBook / betterofficials • β Email [email protected] • OTHER VIDEO PLAYLISTS: • • 2-Person High School Mechanics • http://bit.ly/YT-2p • • Wired officials videos • http://bit.ly/wiredrefs • • You Make the Call • http://bit.ly/YT-YMTC • • 3-person High School Mechanics videos • http://bit.ly/yt-3p • • 5 Minutes on Officiating • http://bit.ly/YT-FMOO • • Full Game Videos • http://bit.ly/YT-FullGames • As always, keep working hard and let's get better together. https://abetterofficial.com • --------------------------------- • Note: This video is archival in nature.
