Once the most powerful civilization on the planet, Muslims were surpassed by the time the 'New World' was discovered by the West. At that time, the Muslim world was distracted by sectarianism (which is forbidden by verse 6:159) and internal conflict, the seeds of which were planted much earlier in our history. • This thesis explores the root causes of Muslim sectarianism and proposes a path forward to unify the Muslim world and revive the Islamic Civilization, by actually implementing the Quran, which has been abandoned by Muslims themselves (as prophesized in verse 25:30.) Both the sectarian traditionalists and the secularists are guilty of this, as the fundamental tenets of both contradict the Quran.
