This video teaches you yum yums, an easy exercise for warming-up your voice. • Yum yums are great for bringing down the head voice and increasing resonance awareness. • To make the y sound, first lay the tip of your tongue against your lower teeth, and raise the middle of your tongue. The air and sound will come through a small gap between your middle tongue and the roof of your mouth. The mm is made by pressing both of your lips together. • The demo in this video follows a 54321 pattern. It best to start this pattern in your mid-to-upper voice, then gently descend. • Yum yums are perfect to do anywhere your warm-up routine, because they help activate the mouth and encourage a gentle sound.
