Skeletron Prime is just a mechanical Skeletron with more arms. His souls are used to craft the Flamethrower. • -------------------------------------- • BATTLE EXPLANATION • -------------------------------------- • THE BATTLEGROUND: • The arena is the same used for The Twins, some long wooden platforms separated by a generous distance. Its purpose is also the same; allowing free movement while battling Skeletron Prime. • In addition to that, the arena voids the Prime Cannon bombs, since they only explode on contact with blocks. • Don't forget to place Campfires, Heart Lanterns and/or Stars in Bottles. • GENERAL STRATEGY: • Unlike regular Skeletron, the hands don't buff the head, so focus on destroying it directly. The arms, howerver, will get in the way often; eliminate some of them if they get too annoying. • The Vice and the Saw attack by ramming into you. Don't stop moving around the arena and they won't be able to catch you. You can also jump them over without much trouble. • The Laser is inaccurate and kind of slow. Again, moving constantly will make it miss often, but it's still the most dangerous arm. • As noted above, the Cannon is disabled by the arena. • Skeletron Prime's head attack is the same as old Skeletron's; spinning towards you. However, he gets extra defense while spinning and is not as fast. Flying and running should be enough to stay away from it. • Like his boney cousin, Skeletron Prime will instakill you if dawn arrives and the battle is not over. • EQUIPMENT AND SPECIFIC STRATEGY: • Boots, wings and the Shield of Cthulhu are advised for mobility. The remaining accesories can be anything that matches your playstile, but damage boosting reforges and accessories are recommended. • If you don't like using Mana Potions because of the Mana Sickness debuff, drink Mana Regeneration Potions and don't let your mana reach 0. Stop attacking for a couple of seconds and your mana will be refilled. • If you don't care about Mana Sickness, then bring Mana Potions. You may want to equip the Mana cuffs or the Mana Flower. • Your weaponry is kind of limited as a Mage because Skeletron Prime moves more than the other mechanical bosses and the arms tank the skull. • You'll need fast firing of gimmicky magic to bypass the boss' strenghts. • The Meteor staff attacks from above, so the arms won't get in the way. However this weapon is not good against fast enemies, so you'll have to aim carefully. • The Crystal Storm has short range, but is very effective when the skull starts spinning because it moves slower. • Other piercing weapons like the Shadowflame Hex Doll, the Frost Staff or the Poison Staff are valid choices, but they're short ranged, inflict mediocre damage or are slow, respectively. • If you've fished a Crystal Serpent, you can use it the whole fight. The shards that it creates on hit help increasing your DPS. • If your world has crimson, craft a Golden Shower to lower Skeletron Prime's defense periodically. • As always, bring all the relevant buffs that are available at that point in the game, specially Magic Power and Mana Regeneration Potions. • --------------------------- • CUSTOM MUSIC • --------------------------- • Night: • Dragon Quest VIII - A peaceful community at night • • Video • Boss 1: • E.V.O.: The search for Eden - Decisive Battle • (4.6 Okunen Monogatari Symphonic Synth Suite) • • E.V.O.: Search for Eden OST - 6.
