The Pontic-Steppe was a region of Eurasia where different peoples coexisted, including indigenous pastoralists and various nomadic tribes and it was into this land that the Scythians migrated. The Scythians, with their mastery of the horse and bow, were a formidable force that clashed with the Cimmerians and eventually displaced them. Region which was relatively stable before their arrival was now an unstable land with an air of chaos in its atmosphere. The Scythians migrated from Central Asia to the west, drawn by the favorable climate and perhaps driven out by political instability. The steppe landscape, with its vast grasslands stretching from Manchuria to Hungary, has played a significant role in shaping the migration pattern of the nomadic people. • Chapters: • 0:00 Intro • 01:13 The Scythians • 02:11 The Eurasian Steppe • 03:29 Reason for their migration • 04:13 Migration • 05:45 South of Caucasus Mt. • 06:29 North of Caucasus Mt. • 07:25 West of Carpathian Mt. • 08:10 Encounter with Greeks • 09:18 Conclusion • All the images and video footages used in this video are either from public domain or used under fair use guidelines. • Music Credits: • 1.
