Kazuchika Okada is leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling after spending more than a decade of his career with them. His final singles match will be against Hiroshi Tanahashi at New Beginning. Which was the same place where he had his first major test as The Rainmaker in 2012 and dethroned Tanahashi for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. • Where do I think Okada will go? On paper, I think AEW would be a better fit for Okada. He has many friends there, and it's unlikely they would position him to cut many, if any promos in English. • However, after seeing his interaction with Chris Sabin Alex Shelly at TNA's Snake Eyes PPV, I began to think he's more likely to go to WWE. He seemed happy to see them, but unhappy that it might be the last time he'll work with them or see them for a while. Which wouldn't be the case if he signed with AEW. I mean, look at Will Ospreay. • The biggest thing for WWE would be for them to break him to the US audience and figure out how to make him someone worth watching for casual fans. They could improve his English for promos, give him a manager / mouthpiece (no, not you Gedo), or even let him speak Japanese and give him subtitles. My ultimate ask, is that they don't make him Shinsuke Nakamura 2.0. In other words, don't give him start stop pushes.
