I'M SO YOUNG, The Students, (Rare) (Note #10012) 1958 • Flipside: EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK - Here is another really great ballad from my music collection. A real collectors' classic. It was arranged and conducted by jazz saxophonist/orchestra leader/session artist/ arranger Jimmy Coe, whose long career spanned almost 70 years. In 1968, he was in the first group of musicians inducted into the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation Hall of Fame. • The students hailed from Cincinnati, Ohio and formed in 1956. They called themselves The D'Italians and group members were: Leroy King (Lead), Dorsey Porter, Roy Ford, John Bolden and Richard Johnson. • I'M SO YOUNG was released again on (Checker #902) 1958 and again on (Argo #5386) 1961. Although it never charted nationally on Billboard, it was featured in the 1990 motion picture, CRY BABY starring Johnny Depp, Troy Donahue, Patty Hearst, William Dafoe, Joey Heatherton, Polly Bergen, and Iggy Pop.
