My jon boat has been long overdue for an outboard upgrade. My 2016 Yamaha 9.9 pushes my 14 foot jon boat with ease at 22 mph when its just me, and a small amount of fishing gear. However, when a client is in the boat and I have my 26 gallon live well full of water and threadfin shad, the boat can only manage about 10 mph at best. That simply will not do. I'm expecting 30 mph with this new engine based off of results other anglers have had with similar setups.
