The Straddle Step

The jump rope straddle looks a lot like a jumping jack from the waist down. It's comprised of two distinct movements: taking the legs apart on the first revolution of the rope and then bringing them back together on the second revolution of the rope. • We like the straddle because it helps to improve abduction and adduction and is a good move for athletes who spend a lot of time in the frontal plane. • In this video, Shana Brady and Tim Haft from Punk Rope, explain exactly how to do the jump rope straddle and also cover what can go wrong and how to fix it. They also demonstrate the x-cross, a more advanced version of the jump rope straddle. • To learn more about Punk Rope including our jump ropes, classes, workshops, monthly newsletter, and Jump Rope Instructor Certification, please visit https://www.punkrope.com. • If you enjoyed this video thanks for liking it, sharing it, and subscribing to our channel. • We welcome your comments and questions and will respond as quickly as possible. • Hop on, • Tim Shana
