Outlaw King had a lot of promise. As I was watching it, I was really happy, but then the climax went completely off the rails. What’s up with these Scottish history movies ending poorly? I don’t know if that ultimately makes this a bad movie, but it certainly sours my opinion of it. But the First Scottish thing of Independence was a fascinatingly complex 30-year-long conflict, with several distinct phases, which this film is mixing up for some reason.
