What is Roseola? (A Viral Infection in Young Children) - Overview, Symptoms, Causes, Treatment, and Prevention. Learn more here: https://healthery.com/health/roseola/ • Roseola is a viral infection caused by two common forms of the herpes virus. Roseola usually appears in children two years old or younger. • The condition is not very serious and can last for several days, in some cases a parent may not even know their child has contracted Roseola. Typically Roseola is not a serious illness, the best treatment for this condition is time, bed rest and fluids. As of right now there is no cure or vaccination for Roseola. Fever and rash are the most common symptoms of this viral infection. • If Roseola lasts more than seven days, with persisting rash and fever, make sure you take your child to see a doctor as soon as possible. To identify Roseola correctly you must examine your child's rash. If the rash has tiny pink spots, that are not raised from the skin and are ringed in white then this is a Roseola rash. • The rash most often starts on the back, chest and stomach. The rash does not itch and will last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Roseola is commonly confused with the measles as their symptoms present in a similar way. • Watch this video presented by healthery.com to find out more detailed information on Roseola. • This video is meant for educational purposes and is not medical advice. • Website: https://healthery.com/ • Facebook:   / healthery
