Last time you saw me boarding a ship to England, where I spent a brief time catching up with loved ones, collecting my parcels for the things I'd ordered online and carrying out some much needed repairs on Big Yellow. • I really wanted to get the air con sorted (finally), replace a noisy wheel bearing at the rear, have the MOT done and change the oil. I also took out the old fridges (which were struggling with the heat) and fit a new fridge, which meant moving and making new draws in the kitchen and relocating the gas shut off manifold. I didn't need to be in Yorkshire to do the work but that's where I did it, and I quickly moved on. • It was difficult for me to be back surrounded with all the memories of my mum. I still needed more time to heal I guess. • And so, as soon as the important jobs had been done (at least to my poor standard) I set off to Ireland, choosing to cross from Cairnryan in Scotland. • I very nearly didn't go to Northern Ireland. All I knew about it was what I saw on the news growing up. It was at the last minute I thought, fek it, I'm there so I should take a look, however briefly.
