This presentation discusses coding guidelines for excision and destruction of benign and malignant skin lesions, CPT® codes 11400-11471, 11600-11646, 17000-17286. The coding guidelines for each set of codes are compared and contrasted. Different scenarios are presented with coding guidelines and examples for each. • If you give me a Superthanks of $5 or more, I will send you a copy of the slides for this video! Thank you! • Benign lesions include neoplasms, cicatricial lesions, inflammatory lesions, congenital lesions, and cystic lesions. These lesions are treated either by excision or destruction. • Also discussed are benign premalignant lesions, benign vascular proliferative lesions and granulation tissue. • Malignant lesions include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. These may be treated using excision or destruction. Calculating margins for excision of these lesions is discussed. • I would love to hear from you!
