The afternoon of the fifth of the Hebrew month of Iyar. • The Israel Philharmonic plays Hatikvah. • In 1948, the orchestra played the anthem of the newly born State. • Outside, on Rothschild Blvd., an audience gathered, who didn't yet know that they were Israeli . • Today, 72 years later, the orchestra plays the anthem again conducted by Lahav Shani our designate Music Director.
