How to read OBD1 trouble codes in 1995 and older Honda and Acura vehicles without using a scanner.. In my case I had trouble code 14 which indicated a bad ECU (computer).. I personally don't disconnect the battery when removing/installing the ECU and I've never had a problem.. But it's probably a smart thing to do..
