Dealing with Tailbone Pain During Pregnancy and Postpartum? • Tailbone pain, or coccyx pain, is a common complaint among pregnant and postpartum women. Understanding the anatomy can help us address this discomfort. • The tailbone (or coccyx), attaches to the sacrum at the sacro-coccygeal joint, which can vary in its positioning. Muscles in the back of your pelvic floor like the coccygeus, iliococcygeus, and pubococcygeus anchor the tailbone, but can become painful if the tailbone is too flexed or extended. • Try out this trick to help find some pelvic floor muscular relaxation and relief: • ✨ To ease this pain and relax the muscles around the coccyx, use a lacrosse or tennis ball to release these muscles. Place the ball between the anus and the left or right of your sit bone, sit on it, and press into the ball until it feels tolerable. • Practice diaphragmatic breathing and pelvic tilts to help release the muscles. Do this on both sides and see how it feels after. • Do not sit your tailbone directly onto the ball and don’t sit on the ball for greater than 5 minutes on either side. • — • #fitpregnancy #pregnancy #36weekspregnant #pregnant #37weekspregnant #healthypregnancy #38weekspregnant #39weekspregnant #postpartum #pregnancyjourney #fitpregnancyjourney #pregnancyfitness #prenatalfitness #pregnancyworkout #pregnantbelly #fitmama #babybump #pregnancytips #33weekspregnant #34weekspregnant #pregnantlife #postpartumjourney #postpartumfitness #babybelly #thirdtrimester #30weekspregnant #31weekspregnant #32weekspregnant #40weekspregnant #momday
