Friedrich von Flotow: Last Rose Of Summer , from the opera Martha (1847) • Arranged for two mandolins by Ferdinando de Cristofaro, from Méthode de mandoline (1884) • This famous Irish tune was originally published as the tune to a poem by Thomas Moore in 1813. Subsequently, it has been adapted by many composers. Probably the most famous musical setting is from Flotow's opera Martha (1847), which has been recently used as the opening songs in the movie Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri . • For my mandolin duo recording, I have used a simple arrangement from Cristofaro's pioneering mandolin tutor, where it is Recreation III: • https://archive.org/details/cristofar... • 1890s Umberto Ceccherini mandolin (x2)
