🌊 Meet the fascinating Red-eye Medusa, a tiny jellyfish with a big appetite! 🦐✨ • At only 4 cm tall, these jellies are named for their striking red eyespots near the base of their bell, which help them sense light and know which way is up. But what’s really amazing? The long strands inside are their gonads, while the central structure is their stomach, packed with prey. • The Red-eye Medusa uses “sink-fishing” to extend its tentacles and catch plankton as it slowly sinks through the water. They also feed on the seafloor, perching on their tentacles, sometimes hopping to stir up prey. • It’s incredible to watch these tiny predators in action! 🪼 • #Jellyfish #MarineLife #sealife #scubadiving #scubadiver #beseaadventure
