For courses and resources, visit http://www.thrass.com and click on a country to be directed to the correct website. • • The aim of the SIO v1.4 Software User Guide (Ref. 100414 http://www.thrass.co.uk/vaug.htm ), dated 14 April 2010, is to provide a good introduction to the seven different, but related, applications in the latest version of the SOUND IT OUT software published by THRASS UK. The seven applications include the interactive Picturechart (iPC), Levels 1-5 and the interactive Word Bank (iWB). • • The interactive Picturechart (iPC) has 120 pictures. The chart is used to introduce and revise the THRASS keywords. • • To become familiar with the 120 keywords and where they are located, click on the pictures that are 'Animals', 'Things you can eat', 'Parts of the Body', 'People', 'DIY', 'Transport' and other categories. • • Another way to become familiar with the keywords and thei r locations is to click on the pictures that have the same colour - black, blue, brown, green, grey, orange, purple, red, yellow, white. • • Yet another way (to become familiar with the keywords and their locations) is to click the pictures to make compound words, such as sunlight, moonlight,lighthouse, doorbell, wheelchair, waterwheel, snowball, rainwater, tapwater... • • Notice that in the top right hand corner there is an orange icon. This is the RUN icon. Whenever you see this icon on a large picture screen, click anywhere on the far right to reveal the RUN menu. On the RUN menu, R stands for Reverse Order. U stands for U-Turn and takes you back to the Picturechart. N stands for Next. Click the large picture to hear the keyword. To sound out a keyword, click the keygraphemes to hear the phonemes.
