Why should you do Dumbbell Rows? • Dumbbell Rows work your back, biceps, glutes, and hamstrings… • …and they’re a great exercise for longevity. • If you’re NOT currently doing Dumbbell Rows on a regular basis, I highly recommend adding them to your routine. • In this short video, I show you the key form points for doing Dumbbell Rows correctly. • Getting your form correct helps maximize the effects you get, but more importantly, helps you avoid injury. • 1. Take 2 medium dumbbells or kettlebells. • 2. Hinge forward at your hips, to load your glutes and hamstrings. • 3. Take a breath in, then breathe out as you pull the weights in towards your stomach. Squeeze your shoulder blades together, and use your arms like pulleys or cables. Squeeze at the top. • 4. Breathe in as you lower the weights back down to the start point, for a count of 2. • 5. Use the tempo of one, two, pause. This means two seconds up, pause, two seconds down, pause, etc, etc. • Some of the common mistakes people make when doing Dumbbell Rows, are: • 1. Rounding your back throughout the movement. This can give you lower back pain, and potentially cause injury. • 2. T-Rex arms - This means you only pull a short distance, using your arms as the main muscle group.
