The character of Rachel Dawes, actually created by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer for the movies and not based on the comics, plays a key role in The Dark Knight trilogy as Bruce Wayne's childhood friend and romantic interest. More than that, after the death of Bruce's parents, Rachel represents to him the hope to live one day a normal life without Batman, which plays an important element in Bruce's motivation. • Despite appearing mostly in Batman Begins and briefly in The Dark Knight , the theme of Rachel is really a standout in the score, and at times it is also used in relation to Bruce's parents. The sweet and warm feeling of this leitmotif shines bright every time it appears, and it reminds of the more human and emotional side of Bruce by recalling his wish to be happy in a life tormented by loneliness and dangers. In the large amount of dark and serious tones of the trilogy, this is truly a beautiful and delightful composition to listen. • Tracklist: • 0:00 Eptesicus • 1:55 Father to the Rescue • 4:03 Finders Keepers • 4:50 Your Father's Name • 5:27 Meeting Rachel • 6:55 Ducard and Gotham's Fate / Bruce Left for Dead • 7:21 Surveying the Ruins • #batmanbegins #hanszimmer #jamesnewtonhoward #rachel
