#RomanceBooktuber #TheBookRefuge #HistoricalRomances • This has been a highly requested video, so here it is! I ranked some authors I love from 1 chili pepper to 5. There of course will be some variation, but I hope you enjoy! • My Spice Scale: • No Steam- Pretty Obvious, there is no romance, or even a hint of it. • Steam Puff- There is tension and maybe a kiss or too (Usually YA romance) or Fade to black scenes • 1- Hands or Mouthy but no penetration on page. Heavy petting maybe but deeds fade to black or aren’t detailed. Illusion is used. OR, there is one scene and it is in the last part of the book. Gives you “lady blue balls”. • 2- Deed is done, but it is very delayed or not more than 2 scenes. Maybe more flowery language is used for body parts. Only more conventional sexual positions and situations. • 3- Things are happening and they are a bit more graphic, more often. Maybe a spank or a tickle. Wording is still more romantic for the most part. Maybe more positions and some dirty talk are introduced. • 4- Fairly often and graphic in descriptions, as in the words used are more crude and aggressive during the act. Lots of foreplay, sexy talk, slightly kinky, anal. There is still a bigger plot to the book. • 5- Erotica, soon, often, very graphic and explained. Kinky AF.
