I believe ascii_flappy_bird [1] is the best I have played so far. It's the best because is responsive, great ASCII art, you can even see the wing overlapping on the ceiling of the gap (0:22, use 0.5x). I also like the ground and sky (?) kind of animating. • The title screen is nice, although I don't know about that progress bar, it's for you to get ready to flap, I am sure. It requests a screen size of 80x24 or larger. • $$$$ • Flap! Flap!
