OneWire (http://www.onewire.com/videos) interviews Ernest Scalamandre, Founder Managing Member of AC Investment Management, in the latest installment to the Open Door video series with Skiddy von Stade. • If you don't have a passion for something, I can assure you it's a recipe for disaster. • Opting not to follow his family's footsteps into the silk business, Ernest Scalamandre proactively spent high school and college summers on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Scalamandre graduated with a B.S. from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business and immediately began work at Kidder, Peabody Co. As a result of frustration with the disconnect between hard work and compensation, Scalamandre started trading his own account on the floor of the NYSE. After working at two separate firms, Scalamandre started his own company, Pinnacle Asset Management, in 2000. While Pinnacle reignited his interest in commodities, Scalamandre ultimately did not find it to be a productive culture or work environment. In 2006, Scalamandre drew up a detailed business plan outlining future goals, and this plan turned into AC Investment Management.
