Answers to your questions: • Inside opening of flange is slightly over 2”, so it is no smaller than the trap of the toilet. Never had any clog issues or complaints. Side slots are stronger and don’t allow the toilet bolts to move around. Stainless flat head would have been ideal, but didn’t have any with us.
