This is important to learn for the intermediate player. Hitting properly will prevent injuries in the rotator's cuff, wrist and arm. • The goal for the serve is to make sure you make contact with the ball with an extended arm and a tiny bit in front of you (depending on style of serve) but to never feel like you're falling backwards to hit it. The serve is hit with an upward and outward motion of the racquet head.
