This article offers an analysis of the two most circulating movies, KARUNA MAYUDU and SHANTI SANDESHAM. First, the focus is on the contents of the movies and the measure in which they reflect the contents of the gospels. Then attention is paid to their affinity with the Indian context and with the so-called Bollywood films. Finally the Christologies of these films are discussed and analysed.
