Seminyak is really just an extension of Legian which is an extension of Kuta. It's a sensory overload of shopping, food and madness Bali style. Some amazing accomodation lives here as do some amazing 5 Star Hotels. Seminyak Villas can be good too. It's vibrant, crowded and fun. My advice for first timers? Stay in Seminyak and do some day trips to Canggu, Uluwatu and Ubud. Get a feel for the place and then venture further on your next trip.
