On April 26, 2024, West Atlantic Flight NPT10, a Boeing 737-400 freighter, experienced a cargo shift during its descent into Edinburgh. As the aircraft pitched down, a Unit Load Device (ULD) in Bay B slid forward into Bay A, striking the forward bulkhead with a “dull double bang.” Despite minor bulkhead damage, the crew safely landed the aircraft without further incident. • An AAIB investigation revealed unsecured or faulty locks likely caused the ULD to shift, prompting procedural reviews by the operator to prevent similar events.
