#bellini #belcanto #pavarotti • The young Vincenzo Bellini composed the aria Dolente Immagine di Fille Mia during his years of study at the Naples Conservatory in a version in C minor for solo voice and orchestra of which only a few orchestral parts remain today. • According to Francesco Florimo, the two quatrains of double quinari («Dolente immagine - di Fille mia») were composed by Maddalena Fumaroli, the girl Bellini loved during his years of study in Naples.
