Desk one was made in 2005 when I had a single 17 inch monitor and needed storage for scanner, printer, PC etc. Now that I have two 32 inch 4K displays, the offset seating position was really taking it's toll on my neck. • So what I've made here is a more open, trestle/cantilever design similar to the old mixing consoles from the past. It's made from solid Jarrah with an aluminium sliding shelf for keyboards and mouse. The USB hub and audio interface are fixed to the underside of the desk with home made aluminium brackets. I'm very happy with how it turned out and hope you enjoy the video. • Answer to comments question: • Thanks:) Actually, the underside of the desk is a significant part of the overall design. I originally made this project in two parts and uploaded two videos. One was the desk itself and the other dealt with what was done underneath. There are sixteen power outlets under there as well as the brackets for mounting USB hub and Audio interface not to mention the aluminium sliding drawer assembly. After uploading the videos, I noticed that the second part of the build was getting significantly less views, this was not a problem in itself, the problem was that the finished shots were in the second video. So this meant that a lot of people who viewed the first part (by far the greater number) were not seeing the finished desk. So I bit the bullet and removed the second part and re-edited the first video to include the finished shots. • Answer to comment question: • The desk was measured up to suit me exactly, in the room that will house it. But FYI here are the measurements. Height: 800mm. Width: 2400mm. Depth: 800mm. The legs are 1700mm apart. From these measurements you can work out the rest. • Attila in the shed: https://www.youtube.com/@awintheshed/...
