I confess, I fell in love with Hakkari. • On the second day of our Hakkari trip (June 26, 2023), we went to Mergan Plateau in Cilo Region. We visited Heaven and Hell Valley and Cilo Glaciers, one of the most beautiful geographies of Hakkari. • Unfortunately, the 20 thousand year old Cilo Glaciers are getting smaller every year due to the effect of global warming. We turned back before approaching the waterfall on the upper side of the glacier because it was not very safe. I would like to warn those who will go to the region to be careful. • Heaven and Hell Valley is an oasis located in the Eastern Anatolia Region. The valley is located in Yüksekova district of Hakkari province. Heaven and Hell Valley is a place where two different colored waters meet. Blue waters flow on one side of the valley and brown waters flow on the other. Therefore, the valley is called Heaven and Hell. • Heaven and Hell Valley is one of the most important tourism centers in Turkey. It is visited by thousands of tourists every year. The valley is an ideal place for activities such as nature walks, camping, picnics and photography. • Cilo Glaciers is the second highest mountain in Turkey and has one of the largest glaciers in the world. Glaciers are covered with snow and ice that do not melt throughout the four seasons and offer a magnificent view.
