A quick guide to setup Project64 Version 2.1 with Netplay AQZ and NRage. • • Important Notes: • 1. Once connected to server/hosting server and you wish to start the game type: /start • 2. The Lag option is sort of optional, you can change it depending on your connection. Faster connections can use less lag, slower connections may need more. I've found the default 5 is usually efficient. • 3. If Project64 is minimized by any other connected players, your game may freeze until they maximize the Project64 window again. (This was the case for me). Unchecking Pause emulation when window is not active may fix this (although I have not tested it). This is located in Options/Settings and is the first checkbox. • 4. If Project64 does not let you close the window, simply open up the Task Manager (CTRL-ALT Delete) and end the process. • 5. Also, you must repeat the setting up and connecting to server process every time you switch games. • • Port Forwarding Tips: • 1. Type your gateway IP into your browser URL bar (192.168.1.1 for most people) • 2. Login to your router via Username and Password • 3. Every router is different, but port forwarding is usually located in the Advanced or Gaming options • 4. Choose a port number. I usually choose one above 1000 because lower ports are used for various other functions. • 5. If asked just use TCP/UDP or the Both option. • 6. Use the correct internal IP of your device you will be using Project64 on. • 7. To find internal IP • -Open command prompt (type cmd into run/search) • -Type: ipconfig • -Record the IPv4 Address (this is your internal IP) • -Use that address in the Port Forwarding section • 8. Save settings • Congrats, you are done!
