The Achaemenid Empire, otherwise known as the Persian Empire, took place between 550 BCE and 330 BCE. The empire existed in what is now modern-day Iran and encompassed parts of Central Asia as well. It was the largest empire on earth at the time of its existence, which spanned three centuries of power.
