Foxbody Coolant Leak Heater Core Bypass How ToDIY

On this episode I show you how to track down a coolant leak on your vehicle - specifically on a 1987-1993 Ford Fox body Mustang 5.0. I had recently changed the water pump on this 1990 Ford Foxbody LX Convertible 5.0. The client had mentioned that he noticed that there was coolant on the garage floor under his car. After looking at the car we could not find where the coolant was coming from. Finally we noticed that the coolant was coming from the passenger firewall area which is a tell tale sign that the heater core is leaking. In order to change the heater core in a Foxbody Mustang, the whole dash and console needs to be removed. Alternatively, the heater core can be bypassed to rectify the leak until a later date when you have the time/money to fix the leaking heater core.
